Search For A Star 2008 launched by The Daily Star Sunday, in conjunction with Chorley FM along with many other sponsors, on the 6th April 2008.

A host of celebrities have signed up to judge in this, Britains BIGGEST privately run talent show, at the North Pier, Blackpool which will run from the 25th of May until the grand finale at the end of October.

Funny man Bobby Ball, of Cannon & Ball fame, says "I’m committing my time and energy to this because I believe there is a tremendous wealth of talent in the country that is not getting the breaks it deserves."

All-round entertainer Casey-Lee Jolleys, who starred as Jenny in Beachcomber Bay and as Orchid in Corrie, agrees adding that "Search For a Star is all about the talent and not about the judges."

Other household names such as X Factor Finalist Rowetta, Paul Crone from Granada Reports, vocal impressionist Joe Longthorne, Tony Clayman agent to stars such as Aled Jones & Kerry Katona, Viv Wells from Pele Productions who has produced multiple stage performances including The Wizard of Oz at The Lowry this winter, resident director & performer at The Birdcage David Dale and actor & script writer Joe Standerline also signed up as judges for this Nationwide Competition open to all types of acts, both professional and amateur and for performers of all ages.
